Election overview
On Thursday 6th May 2021 English councils will hold local elections. This includes many which were initially set to take place in 2020 but which were postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

How to vote
In England, anyone over the age of 18 and one of the following, is eligible to vote in May 2018:
- a British citizen living in the UK
- a qualifying Commonwealth citizen living in the UK
- a citizen of the Republic of Ireland living in the UK
- a European Union citizen living in the UK
- someone registered to vote as a Crown Servant
- someone registered to vote as a service voter
